HEY KIDS…. get ready cause here we come!!!! Malakas of the Universe 2012 is starting off early this year… take a look at the dates to the right! …… yes, that is right, we are expanding our roaming grounds and hopefully, if you have never had the chance to see Bushfire or Wight, your time has come to enjoy us in living color and sound. I am sure this tour will be as fun and exciting as the last, I really can not wait to get on the road and meet up with some warm familiar faces and meet some new ones as well. PLEASE UNDERSTAND the MOTU tour is all DIY, there are no promoters / bookers / publicists … we do it all by ourselves, it is hard work and there are no promises… posters, gas, bus, driver, roadie, all organized and paid for by ourselves….so our success really depends on you, the fan of heavy. come to the show and support us and all the little men.
Speaking of nice friends and faces, have you heard of the FREAK VALLEY FEST or STONED from the UNDERGROUND we will be attending those as well as some other festivals soon to be named, so hang in there!
Have you seen our latest video for the song You Should Have Known, We would like to thank first and foremost, Ambitious Films for investing their time and effort. Nadine Petry - for running around in a skimpy outfit at night in the later part of December and for your toleration and determination to get the job done! Very professional to say the least. Uwe Ficker - for doing what you do! uh.....what do you do? as well as, Sarah "the hand model"! for (take a guess)?!! You rock! filmed on location at the Oetinger Villa, Darmstadt.
at the moment we are writing lots of new material, working on structures and sounds, hopefully by the grace of … whoever! we will be in the studio by the end of the year….
?did i say there was a baby on the way? yep! one of the Bushfirian wives is already in the third trimester, keep your fingers crossed and wish us all well! that boy is doomed to be a monster!!! Muahahhahahhahahaaa!

Malakas Of The Universe Tour 2011
Thursdays roll out time was 1430, Hence, our driver/roadie/merchman/all around brother, headed south to Leonberg, the Beat Barake, the drive was relatively short and upon arrival the skies opened up and the heavens drenched the earth. entering the venue it smelled like FOOD! The whole venue permeated fried chicken… I think it was the first time ever that I have been fed burritos on tour, and they were great as well. The BB crew were very open and friendly, helpful to every extent, THANK YoU! Concert time!! GFoB the local instrumental heros started the show, WIGHT followed… their second song began and finally one could hear some soulful singing ringing though the venue… and the flock gathered…. later we (Bushfire) took to the stage, it was great! our first show with our new bassist Nick and it burned all those there, to ashes. ahhh… the new chapter can really begin, i thought… afterwards, the local after show party, surely as always, got far out of (drinking) control. Wight, BF, (WDS crew) and the local BB crew took the night into the weee hours of the morning, some of us regretted that the next day…. I saw and heard monstrous laughter, busted lips, blue shoulders, ?? missing contact lenses??(how do you lose contacts)?? cartoon hemorrhoids, giggles in the dark, dont forget the burping thai chi, and a lot of cross eyed, pale white zombies for breakfast the next morn. BB venue and crew are capable and competent and I can only recommend them if you tour. LOAD UP AND ROLL OUT 2pm. WURZBURG HERE WE COME!
The suns last rays of light, lit the dim sky upon arrival to our first destination in W-town. Within 2 seconds of parking the bus, 9 guys lost themselves in 3 stores in a 20 meter radius, a music store, a record store and a gun shop. After about 30mins we headed to the venue Immerhin. I swear in all the towns and all the venues I have played, none were more desolate as our first impression of this zombie playground. No really, if I were to make a zombie movie, THIS would be the place. (especially with all us zombies in the bus) Creepy just begins to describe the terror/humor we all had in the first few seconds. luckily our location contact, Conan/Ritchie was not yet undead, in fact he had enough energy to help us unload the bus, cook (damn tasty) chili and keep us in good spirits if you know what I mean. After sound check we headed into the center of the town to buy a ball for the soccer game we would play later. GAME ON!!! Afterwards, Bushfire started the night this time and everyone who came was ready to go. Again, we released the demon and got the crowd charged and hungrily ready for more. Wight took the stage and directly began to hypnotized the crowd, and if that was not enough, during their set the power went out due to someone dropping their drink into the extension cord. you would think that this would stop a band, but it did not. With a determination they played the song to its end and then began to jam a drum solo by candlelight until the problem was solved. RESPECT!!! Afterward we partied a bit after load up, some of us had a quick and quite night by some close friends, some of us did not sleep at all. roll out after a quick shower and breakfast at fast-food joint. DARMSTADT HERE WE COME!!!
We arrive early enough in DA to take a quick nap after the set up. ...sorry no catering…, so we hit our local hero doner shop, Efendis. This is where i will go off track and explain something close to heart. all 9 of us, in all that time, handled another with respect and love like none to compare. I believe I can speak for everyone and say. we went together as friends and ended up as family. there were no band indifferences, no band egos or separation. WE all ate, drank, slept and partied with each other. We really have found a unique brotherhood amongst ourselves. BIG LOVE TO ALL.
So back to the show, the Schlosskeller is packed and it is still early. These catacombs/supports of a mid-evil castle basement divided the crowd into 3, and basically letting everyone surround the stage, it was powerful, intense and confining. If you ever seen our show you know I never stand still but I had to this time with a few exceptions. Next up, Wight. The whirlwind of sound engulfed the crowd and did not spit them back out until a good heavy hour later. Somewhere near the end of their show I was filming and noticed Rene eyeballing me to come to the stage, where I sang a couple parts of songs that we recorded together earlier this year, off the upcoming release for early next year. what a great party, what a great night, what a great tour.
Last but definitely not least,… I want to thank all you who came to our show, bought our merch, partied with us and enjoyed our music. without you it surely would have not been as much fun as it was!! so from all of us,…. THANK YOU!!!
2012 we will back on the road together so keep your eyes peeled and your ears open. and dont forget your magnesium!!

as you may have read before, a lot has been going on in our little BF world . So lets sum it up, shall we. (english humor, paul)
NKOTB no not the boy band, just a statement. NICK K. has filled the position of fiddling around on the bass in the band. He is no stranger on many levels, most of us know him in our personal lives for quite some time, …from school… or from the stage,…. to the skateboards and many other (censored) stories…. it is one of those things where you know it just fits. so when you see him on stage give a warm welcome because he is family. check the picture… the short one next to me, heheheheheheheeeee

we have been fooling around with some nice song ideas, but due to our drummer being on vaction at the moment, i guess we will just keep writing some more to let that creative ball keep on a rolling.

can you say HELL YEAH?… sometimes there are places to play and there are PLACES to PLAY! the VORTEX is a venue that leads the example, that sets a standard and makes it hard for the rest. let me give you the low down… we arrive at 1730 to the venue, all the help is already there, the stage is ready to load up and the grill is hot and cooking. The sound man is prepared and willing, everyone with a smile and a helping hand and that is just the first impression of the first 5 minutes, after the set up we are escorted to our own little house of love, 1rst floor has a full kitchen and refrigerator full with beer, upstairs are various sleeping accommodations with beds sheets and blankets… do not forget the pillows for all 9 members of this tour! most of the band members ate before the show but because of vocal lung capacity, Rene and myself want to wait till after the show to eat… NO PROBLEM said the master wurst man, i am here for you…. WOW! 1am and the grill is reheated!! RESPECT! so… moving on… we, Bushfire start the show, and of course it rocks… an hour later Wight take the stage, and you know it is Wight because of the smell. you would know what i am talking about if you were ever at one of their shows, and of course, needless to say, they rocked as well! afterward we all ate again and celebrated our evening with some of the best hospitality that i have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. So raise your glass because HERE IS TO JENS AND HIS TEAM! THANK YOU SO MUCH! BOOK US AGAIN i am feeling home sick!
note… if you have a touring band, inform yourselves about the VORTEX and Jens (rock freaks live concerts).

We just wanted to say THANK YOU to ALL the Vis a Vis family, friends and crew. also to DYNAMITE JONES and Paul (crossroads) for a wonderful evening celebrating their 2nd anniversary. we would also like to thank the city of darmstadt for losing our permit and the neighbors for calling the cops. luckily it did not stop us from our fun. even mother nature tested our nerve but it did not break our spirit.... we hope you had as much fun as we did.

we really had a great time and your hospitality is unmatchable... thank you so much for you time and love. I really had a vocal problem due to losing my voice a day before, but somehow by the grace of the devil it all was acceptable, (for our standards). I was really sweating bullets before the show, drinking only honey water and (all most) total silence. the band mates cherished that moment, I can tell you. afterwards we enjoyed the long and heavy night, CAN ANYONE SAY.... iPhoneTower!?
